Advanced Quantum Theory

Lecture (physics 606)

The lectures will take place on Mondays from 12:00 - 14:00 and Wednesdays from 13:00 - 14:00 in the Hörsaal 1 in the Physics Institute. A set of lecture notes to the lectures is available here.

 

Exercises

The exercises will start on Monday, the 22nd of October. A total of 6 exercise sessions will be offered, as shown below:

The exercises are to be solved as homework problems. New exercise sheets will be made available on Fridays. They can either be picked up at Room 1.056, or downloaded from this page (see below). Please hand in the solved exercise sheets until Friday, 12:00pm of the following week, again at Room 1.056. These will then be corrected, returned and discussed in the exercise groups on the ensuing Mondays and Tuesdays by your respective tutors. Solutions can be handed in as groups of two students. Please remember to write your names and the name of your tutor onto your solutions. Additionally, at the beginning of each exercise session you will take a short test (Quicky) in order to check your understanding of the lecture material. The result will not count for your final score.

Examination

Written 1st and 2nd examinations will take place at the end of the semester. To be eligible to take part in the exam you must have participated successfully in the exercise sessions, i.e., completed at least 50% of the exercises. Previously fulfilled eligibility criteria will not be accepted.

 
1st Examination: Sat, 02.02.2013, 10:00-13:00 in the Wolfgang-Paul-Hörsaal.
 
Review of the 1st Examination: Wed., 06.02.2013, 10:00 - 13:00 in Room 107 in the Physikalisches Institut

Drop-In Center

A general question and discussion session regarding the exercise sheets as well as lecture contents will take place on Wednesdays, 14:00-15:00 in the Hörsaal 1, Physics Institute (first Drop-In Center: Wednesday, 17.10.2012).
