Contents of the Course

Effects of many-body interactions and disorder in condensed matter systems

  • Quantum field theory at finite temperature, Feynman diagram technique
  • Quantum magnetism: Kondo effect, Kondo lattice systems, renormalization group techniques
  • Strongly correlated lattice systems: Hubbard, t-J, Heisenberg models
  • Superconductivity: BCS theory; Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC), BCS-BEC crossover
  • Disordered systems: Electrons in a random potential. Quantum interference and Anderson Localization

Final exam

The first final exam will be on Monday, July 30, 2018 in Lecture Hall HISKP.

Tutorial sessions are in in AVZ 0.024 (Ü16) at 16:00 ct. on every second Thursday (starting May 3).
